Misperception Regarding Curbside Recycling
To the Editor:
There is a gross misperception in Philipstown that curbside recycling is in danger of being eliminated. This is not true! The issue on the table is regarding the County recycling program and not Philipstown's curbside program. This pertains to the location where we all drive to dispose of hazardous wastes. Right now that location is in Carmel. The legislature is proposing a counter program that reduces costs and allows recycling of hazardous wastes to happen on our side of the county as well. They aren't proposing its elimination. When understood for what it really is, this issue clearly deserves the support of Philipstown's residents.
