College Fair Offers Opportunities for Tech Students

The annual College Fair for Career and Technical Education students at Putnam/Northern Westchester Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) is bringing representatives from 40 area and outof state colleges to BOCES' Yorktown Campus. The event, to be held Friday, November 2nd, will include admissions personnel from such schools as Berkley College, Johnson & Wales, Art Institute of Boston at Lesley College, Cochran School of Nursing, Westchester Community College, Vaughn College of Aeronautics & Technology, University of Northwestern Ohio, and the New York School of Court Reporting and Career Institute.

"The College Fair at Tech is geared toward schools that typically enroll our students after graduation, such as the State University of New York schools, the arts and food industry schools, and business and technical institutions," says Don Mannella, Assistant to the Director of Career and Technical Education. "Once our students realize The Tech Center has articulation agreements with many two- and four-year institutions attending the fair, they start thinking seriously about continuing their education. After meeting personally with college representatives, they begin to understand the many post-secondary opportunities available to them."

Students will be meeting with college representatives in BOCES Tech Center from 8am until 2pm.
