O'Neill Girls JV Soccer Wins Three, Loses One

JV girls soccer traveled to Monticello, winning 4-2 on Oct. 4. Top scorer Siera Dillman continues to lead the offensive drive for O'Neill. Her shot off an assist from Holly Fraser came only 4:29 into the game. Olivia Janicelli punched in her first goal of the season off a nice series of passes. Sarah Bosch crossed the ball in to Avery Giordonello who found Janicello open and sent the ball her way. Goal keeper Andrea Constantinou recorder her 2nd shut out of the season. The past week the JV girls hosted Cornwall, Sullivan West and traveled to Liberty.

Tuesday October 9, they fell 3-0 to a strong Cornwall team. The team displayed hard work and heart in their battle with Cornwall. Wednesday the 11th, they took the experience gained in the Cornwall game and beat Sullivan West 4-0, whom they had previously lost to. Andrea Constantinou recorded her 3rd shut out. O'Neill's leading goal scorer, Siera Dillman notched her first hat trick of the season, scoring 3 goals. The first 2 goals of the game Dillman put in off crosses by Sarah Bosch, the third was from Christina Tenuta. Autumn Halstead got her first goal of the season off an assist from Anna Biehle and Sarah Bosch.

The winning streak continued as they traveled to Liberty on Fri and won 6-3. The team came alive sharing the goal scoring amongst 5 players. Liberty started out strong, getting their first goal quickly. The Raiders responded with Captain Marion Copeland by scoring the first goal off an assist from Siera Dillman. The Raiders never looked back as they scored 4 more goals in the first half. Anna Biehle put one in off a pass from Sarah Bosch. Briana Vargas followed suit taking control of a loose ball in the 18 and putting it away in the net. Captain Holly Fraser scored soundly off a penalty kick, and Siera Dillman put in one of her own from a long run down the middle. The second half Marion Copeland got her second goal of the season off an assist from Sarah Bosch. The final score was 6-3. The JV Raiders are now 5-3.

The last week of games coming up have the team away at Tuxedo on October 22, home vs. Tuxedo on October 24 at 4:30 and home vs Port Jervis on the 26th at 4pm to end the season.
