Westchester-Putnam Guitar Society Holds Monthly Jam Sessions
The Westchester-Putnam Guitar Society has been welcoming guitarists and bass players to its monthly open mike/ jam sessions, at the Holiday Inn in Mount Kisco, for the last six months. The organization was founded to give guitarists of all skill levels and musical interests from Putnam County and Northern Westchester, a welcoming place to come together and enjoy playing with and learning from other musicians.
Together with a keyboardist, drummer and singer or two, they have kept things hopping at Teddy's at the Holiday Inn on the Sunday nights that they are playing.
Gus Wieland, the owner of Putnam Music in Mahopac, recommends the group to musicians who come into his store. He says "The WPGS offers adult guitarists and other musicians the opportunity to play with others. It is a great way for them to improve their skills, learn other player's techniques and to enjoy the experience of playing with other musicians."
