45th Annual Putnam Arts Council Juried Fine Art Show Now Open to the Public

The Putnam Arts Council invites the public to visit their 45th Annual Juried Fine Art Show at Tilly Foster Farm in Brewster, NY. This is their premier exhibit in their space, The Lodge (Bldg #8) at 100 Rte 312, and is on view through Friday, November 9 with gallery hours Tuesday-Friday 10- 3 and Saturdays 1-4pm (or by appointment).

The opening reception and awards presentation (10/6) was well attended by many artists and friends who responded with delight to this collection of 84 pieces, including paintings, sculpture, mixed media work and photography, created by 63 regional artists. Executive Director Joyce Picone welcomed all and introduced Assemblyman Greg Ball who presented a facsimile check representing the technology grant that he secured for PAC following the Feb.11 fire at their Kennicut Hill Rd. facility. Ms. Picone then presented five Awards, generously sponsored by John Magnesio of Morgan Stanley.

The Putnam Arts Council is very grateful to William C. Maxwell, of William Maxwell Fine Arts Gallery in Peekskill, for the donation of his time as Juror for selection and awards, as follows: An Honorable Mention was awarded to Annie Fox's House, an oil on canvas by Brewster resident Bruce Iacono; Third Place went to a collage of Burin engravings entitled Waiting for Go-Dog by Adrienne Cullom, of Mahopac; Second Place was awarded to an acrylic on board entitled At the Tribal Shed by Sergio Gonzalez-Tornero, Best Sculpture was awarded to Click an aluminum construct of recycled signage by Jodi Carlson, also from Mahopac, and Best in Show was awarded to A. Eric Arctander of Putnam Valley for his acrylic on board entitled Moons of Jupiter Series: Ganymede.

This exhibit and other programs of the Putnam Arts Council are made possible in part through funding provided by Putnam County. Admission and parking are free.
