Putnam County Health Department Septic Contractor Licensing Requirements
The Putnam County Health Department, Division of Environmental Health Services, is now requiring each person who provides or offers to provide services as a Septic System Contractor in Putnam County to obtain a septic system contractor license from the Commissioner of Health in accordance with the recent amendments to Article 3 of the Putnam County Sanitary Code. Applicants are required to submit an application form and nonrefundable application fee to the Putnam County Health Department. All applicants must participate in a training class and pass a written examination to obtain a license. The fee for the licensing course is $100 and the annual licensing fee is $100. All licenses are valid for one (1) year and must be renewed annually.
Finally, it is to be noted that permits are required to be obtained from the Putnam County Health Department for all septic system repairs. For more information on licensing requirements and training course details please contact Mike Budzinski, Director of Engineering, at (845) 278-6130.
