Garrison Fire Department Trains With New Vehicle Stabilization Equipment
 | | On October 18, 2007, members of the Garrison Volunteer Fire Department (GVFD) underwent training on the recently acquired Res-Q-Jack system. It's no secret that car accidents injure people. But the accident scene itself often poses a serious, additional threat to accident victims and rescue personnel alike. Res-Q-Jack provides fire fighters with state-of-the-art equipment designed to stabilize vehicles, preventing them from rolling over or collapsing onto victims or rescuers. With the vehicle stabilized, firefighters are free to remove victims as quickly and as safely as possible. Here, Ralph LaGuardia of Firematic, the supplier of Res- Q-Jack, trains GVFD firefighters on the new system which was purchased at a cost of $5,000. |
