The Land Trust and Teatown Partner to Host 3rd Annual Sustainability Expo
Green exhibits, workshops and speakers Chevy and Jayni Chase featured

On Saturday, November 10, the Hudson Highlands Land Trust and Teatown Lake Reservation will sponsor their 3rd annual sustainability exposition at The Garrison from 9am to 1pm. As always, this event is free and open to the public. This year's theme is Choices for Sustainable Living: You Can Do It! in an effort to empower everyone to embrace simple measures that can make a real difference. The Land Trust and Teatown are pleased to welcome Chevy and Jayni Chase as featured speakers.

Actor Chevy Chase and his wife Jayni are the founders of The Environmental Education Center Online (www.eeconline.org). Together, the Chases will bring an enthusiastic, informed, and lively point of view to the subject of environmental education for children and adults.

Other planned highlights will include a wide variety of exhibits showcasing green technologies and sustainable products as well as subject matter experts and "knowledgeable neighbors" who will be on hand to discuss and provide information on sustainable practices such as: building, energy efficiency, local agricultural, landscaping and gardening, consumer products, biodiversity, and recycling and reuse. There will also be four separate topical breakout workshops as well as programs geared specifically for young children and teens. "It is our hope that attendees of all ages will take away ideas about how simple it can be to incorporate sustainable practices in their everyday lives," said Andy Chmar, Executive Director.

Choices for Sustainable Living: You Can Do It! will be followed by a tour of four local homes using sustainable design and practices. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, please contact the Hudson Highlands Land Trust at 424-3358 or visit www.hhlt.org for a complete program schedule.
