Choose Very Carefully and Vote
Dear Editor:

Last year at this time of the year (election time) I wrote a Letter to the Editor and stated that it makes no difference which party you vote for, because once in office they will raise our taxes and create not needed positions for their friends and give them fat salaries. I realize everything goes up and elected officials have to raise taxes, but not 16% in Putnam Valley.

What makes me laugh is when you read election signs from candidates in office like "Control Taxes" or a better one "Stop the Tax Nightmare" The residents clearly want less taxes, but the officials are the ones who create the Tax Nightmare, which in turn breaks up families and jobs are leaving New York by the thousands to states where common sense still works.

I for one believe we have to keep the democratic system going, and vote. I will choose very carefully, cross party lines and vote for a few candidates this year.

But I urge you to vote, even if you choose only one candidate, who might win by one vote. Good luck.
