Summing up Tamagna's Dismal Record as County Legislator
Dear Editor:

Two things in last weeks paper regarding Vinny Tamagna help to sum up his dismal record as our county legislator.

First is his vote for the county budget, stating a 26% increase is better than 40% one. How about a "No" vote and protect all the taxpayers? This is not a surprise. Vinny did the same thing to the town's emergency services with his 911 vote many years ago. He voted against the expressed opinion of every fire department and ambulance corps in the town. When asked to explain, Tamagna's only reply? "It was going to lose anyway." It is this attitude that has been the hallmark of his time in Carmel.

Second is the endorsement of Tamagna by Assemblyman Greg Ball. This only reinforces the fact that he is a puppet of the Eastern Putnam politicians. He does their bidding no matter what the consequences are for the Town of Philipstown. Why else would the county conservatives have gone through all the maneuvers they did in their attempt to get Tamagna that line?

We all get the government we deserve. I think we deserve better. Why would we vote for someone for Supervisor that hardly attends a town board meeting? Why would we vote for someone whose record has hurt Philipstown? I won't. will be voting for Bill Mazzuca on Election Day.
