Tamagna is Not a Photo-Op Politician Dear Editor:
Speaking from personal experience, I write to counter Ms. Tuttle's pronouncement two weeks ago that Vinny Tamagna is a "photo-op politician".
I once contacted Legislator Tamagna about a nightmare of a bureaucratic tie-up. Even though he had never heard of me before, he immediately took action. He assigned a capable and caring member of his staff to the case, and personally stayed on top of it until it was resolved. When I think of all the times Vinny called me from his home, from airport lounges, or wherever, a "photo-op" politician is the least likely image that comes to my mind.
Obviously my family and I benefited from his involvement. But, what should interest the community about my experience is that he didn't know me before this case and he never asked for any favors after the case. Being helpful to random constituents without specific expectations is the most honorable form of public service, in my opinion. That's why I think Vinny is an enormous credit to this community. I'll be honored to vote for him in any capacity he chooses to serve.
