Haldane 2nd grader Victor Fina III American Martial Arts Alliance National Champion
On October 6, Victor Joseph Fina III (VJ) received three awards for his participation in The American Martial Arts Alliance. V.J. placed National Champion in both Forms (6 and under age group) and Sparring (6 and under).
Although his rank in weapons put him in 4th place, VJ was not discouraged. "that was for kids 8 and under". This coming year V.J. has his hands full. He looks forward to the challenge of 8 and under Sparring and Forms. " if I took 4th place in weapons at 6 years old… 1st place isn't impossible at 7 years old… I can do it". He has a lot of work ahead of him. Not only will he have to keep up the training and competition schedule, he has his studies as well. V.J. has just passed his deputy exam and hopes to enter the rank of Black Belt 1st Dan by spring 2008. He currently trains at Just For Kicks Martial Arts in Fishkill.
