Hospice Care in Westchester & Putnam Offers Holiday Coping Workshops

People often feel overwhelmed with grief following the loss of a loved one, and with the holiday season fast approaching, many people will reflect on good times they have spent with family and friends during past holidays and look forward to reunions. Others may be thinking of deceased loved ones with which they cannot share the holidays. Grief can cause feelings of shock, numbness, anger, guilt, sadness and confusion. When you are grieving, the holidays can be bittersweet because they are filled with memories and expectations.

To help cope with these feelings of loss, Hospice Care will be offering several interactive bereavement workshops throughout the holiday season. Holiday Coping Workshops will be held at the following locations:

-St. Mary in the Highlands Church: Thursday, October 25, 2007, 6:30-8pm

-Northern Westchester Hospital: Wednesday, November 7, 1007, 6:30-8pm

·Hudson Valley Hospital Center: Thursday, November 8, 2007, 3-4:30pm

·540 White Plains Road: Tuesday, November 13, 2007, 11am-12:30pm

·Sound Shore Medical Center: Thursday, November 15, 2007, 3-4:30pm

The programs are offered free of charge, but pre-registration is required.
