Putnam County Firefighters Participate in Statewide Dedication Ceremony
Thousands of statewide firefighters recently attended dedication ceremonies held in recognition of the Firemen's Home of the State of New York's new 92-bed facility. The Firemen's Home, which dates back to 1892, houses New York State volunteer firefighters, their spouses and ladies auxiliary members. Local fire departments and groups around the state as well as individuals were given an opportunity to sponsor a room at the Firemen's Home. Pictured here at the ribbon cutting of the lounge sponsored by the Putnam County Volunteer Firemen's Association are (L-R): George Hill, Treasurer, Putnam County VFA; Dale Smith, President, Putnam County VFA; Paul O'Brien, Firemen's Home Trustee; Harold Riesdorph, 1St VP, Putnam County VFA; and Jeff Bergstrom, 2"d VP.
