Cold Spring Police Department Report, Week of November 5, 2007
On October 29 at 9:03am, Cold Spring Police Officer Robert Russell responded to an activated medical alert at a residence at 68 Chestnut Street. The resident, an 87 year-old male was interviewed by Officer Russell and the paramedic, and was determined to be OK, and refused medical attention.
On October 29 at 11:00pm, Cold Spring Police Officer Gregory Walz stopped a vehicle for speeding. A computer check of the female driver revealed that she had an active order of protection against a passenger in the vehicle, Andy Rodriguez. Mr. Rodriguez was placed under arrest for first degree criminal contempt. He was remanded to the Putnam County Jail. Officer Walz was assisted in the arrest by Cold Spring Police Officer Ronald Esperti.
On October 30 at 7:20pm, Cold Spring Police Officer Gregory Walz responded to a report of a large tree blocking Route 9D. Upon arrival, Officer Walz observed that the tree had brought down utility wires as it fell. The tree had fallen in front of a 44-year-old Nelsonville resident, who had been unable to stop before her vehicle had received undercarriage damage. Her car was towed from the scene. The Cold Spring Fire Company also responded to shut the roadway and assist with the cleanup.
On October 30 at 11:15pm, Cold Spring Police Officer Gregory Walz interviewed a subject who reported that he had left his wallet on the counter of a local business, returned 5 minutes later and discovered that the wallet was missing. The employees of the business stated that they had not seen the wallet. The victim was advised to contact his credit card companies and cancel the cards he had in his wallet.
On November 3 at 12:18am, Cold Spring Police Officer Anthony Pupczyk responded to a report of noisy youths on West Street. Officer Pupczyk interviewed the youths and sent them home to their residences.
