| On November 1, 2007, Senator Vincent Leibell (40th Senate District) was awarded the Community Service Award from the Federal Law Enforcement Foundation. This charitable foundation's goal is to offer economic assistance to those federal and local law enforcement agents who dedicate their careers and lives to protecting our communities. Some of the programs they help support include:
-Inner-City Drug Reduction Programs throughout the country
-NYPD Vest Fund
-PBA Widows and Children's Fund
-DEA Widows and Children's Fund
As Chairman of the Senate Committee on Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs, Senator Leibell works closely with all levels of law enforcement and military personnel. Throughout this past year, he has visited many local and state-wide law-enforcement agencies and military training facilities.
"I am honored to have received this award from such a distinguished organization. They have supported our Nation's finest law enforcement agents and their families for nearly twenty years, and I am so pleased to be recognized by this Foundation," said Senator Leibell.
