Contact Information for Calling if You See a Dead Deer on the Road

See a dead deer on the road? Please cut these numbers out and keep in your car so you know who to call.

Philipstown Highway Department, 265-3530

Village of Cold Spring Highway Department, 265-4883

Putnam County Highways and Facilities, 845-878-6331 (Upper and Lower Station, Snake Hill, Fishkill Road and Peekskill Road)

NY State DOT 845-878-6361 (Main Street (Rt. 301) and Chestnut Street (Rt. 9D)

Putnam County Sheriff, 265- 9551

Call your local Highway Department:

Southeast, 279-2141; Putnam Valley, 526-3333; Patterson, 878-6130; Kent, 225-7172; Carmel, 628-1500

Brewster, 279-3760.

Heading over to Carmel? The Putnam Humane Society, 225- 7777, www.puthumane.com is desperately in need of new or used blankets, comforters, towels, and sheets. Canned food and treats would also be welcomed by the pets needing a home. They are open from 10am to 4pm Wednesday - Sunday, closed Monday and Tuesday, but donations can be left at the gate.

Shockingly, despite the law, only a small percentage of dogs in Philipstown are licensed. This is very sad given that doing so would make it so easy to return your dog safely home.
