Next Year's Cold Spring Triathlon Date is Announced in Honor of Veterans Day

In honor of Veterans Day, it has been just announced that the Cold Spring Triathlon will take place next year on Saturday, June 14, 2008.

This event will be a 1-mile kayak, a 12-mile bike and a 3- mile run. All proceeds will go to the Intrepid Museum Fallen Heroes Fund and The Michael Shortell Memorial Scholarship Fund.

The Fallen Heroes Fund is a leader in supporting the men and women of the Armed Forces and their families. The Fund has provided close to $60 million in support for the families of military personnel lost in service to our nation, and for severely wounded military personnel and veterans. 100% of contributions raised by the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund go towards these programs; all administrative expenses are underwritten by the Fund's Trustees.

The Michael Shortell Fund provides college scholarships to children of NYC Police Department. For more information go to www.fallenheroesfund.org or www.inmichaelshonor.com.

The race will start and finish at the waterfront at Dockside Park followed by a great Post Race Party with food, music and prizes. Participants can enter as an individual or a team. Kayaks can be rented from Hudson Valley Outfitters 265- 0221. For more info go to www.coldspringtriathlon.org. or call 265-4385. Sponsorships for this event would be greatly appreciated.
