County Health Department to Test Disaster Preparedness with Large Free Flu Vaccine Clinic
The Putnam County Department of Health is planning a large public flu vaccine clinic to help test its ability to immunize a significant number of individuals. This will also provide the Department with the opportunity to practice and improve their disaster preparedness capabilities. Flu vaccine will be offered free at this clinic since the New York State Department of Health has supplied the vaccine at no charge. Only pregnant women will require a prescription from their physician. Prescriptions are not required for any other individual.
All persons 9 years of age and older will be eligible to receive flu vaccine at this clinic. No pneumonia vaccine will be administered at this clinic. The clinic is scheduled for Friday, November 30, 2007 and will take place at the Brewster High School Gum, 50 Foggingtown Road between 12 noon and 7pm.
Additional flu clinics may be scheduled in the future. Further updates can be obtained from the Putnam County Department of Health Flu Vaccine Hotline at 278-6130. You may also visit the Health Department's website at: www.putuamcountyny.com for more information about influenza.
