Toys for Tots Begins in Philipstown

The annual toys for tots program, sponsored by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, is alive and well in Philipstown. All new unwrapped toys will be graciously received from now and until Monday, December 17, 2007 at the following locations: the Village of Cold Spring Police Department - Main Street, Cold Spring; Deb's Hair Salon - Main Street, Nelsonville; Wachovia Bank Chestnut Street, Cold Spring; Putnam County News and Recorder - Main Street, Cold Spring.

Last year, nearly 60 percent of all toys received were gifted to needy children in the Philipstown area, with the remaining toys dispersed in other Putnam county locations. This program has been very successful through the years and it is hoped that the community will continue to support Toys for Tots again this year. Any questions, please call Mayor Anthony Phillips at 265-2850.
