Garrison 8th Graders Organized Successful Food Drive for PV Food Pantry

On Saturday, November 3, 8th grade students from The Garrison School held a Food Drive, at the Food Town in Cold Spring, to support the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley. Close to 9 boxes of non-perishable items were collected in addition to the 8 boxes collected at the school within the previous two weeks. Food donations will be made to the Putnam Valley Food Pantry at the Grace United Methodist Church, which feeds nearly 100 families a week. A monetary donation, also collected by the students, has been made directly to the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley.

Jacqui Ferguson, Max Bass, Mac Horgan and Rose Mackey volunteered their time and incredible enthusiasm to an already successful project sponsored by their 8th grade Guidance Class. 8th grader, Rose Mackey, said, "When you do good, you get good." These students did an amazing job, participating in a worthy cause and realizing the difference that can be made and the fun that can be had while doing so.
