Courage to Speak Program at Putnam Valley High School Presentation "just for parents" on drugs and communication
On Monday, December 10, at 7pm, the will be an Evening for Parents Only with Ginger Katz of The Courage to Speak Foundation at the Putnam Valley High School Performing Arts Center.
The Courage to Speak Foundation, Inc. was founded in 1996, shortly after Ginger and Larry Katz lost their son, Ian, to a drug overdose. Since then, the Foundation has been dedicated to fulfilling a promise that Ginger made to Ian: she promised to do everything in her power to prevent this tragedy from happening to another family.
The Courage to Speak's mission is saving lives by empowering youth to be drug free and encouraging parents to communicate effectively with their children about the dangers of drugs.
"The Courage to Speak presentation is unique because of the degree of emotion Ginger Katz brings to it. I have a strong sense of people walking out of there alerted. The program cuts through denial and can be a really important catalyst to help others take action." - Dr. Thomas Kirk, Connecticut State Commissioner of Mental Health and Addiction Services
"If we can each save a life, we can save the world in time." www.couragetospeak.com
This program is free of charge and is open to all parents. It is fully funded by Putnam Family & Community Services Inc. with the support of the Putnam Valley High School PTSA and the Putnam Valley Health Advisory Council
