Officer Burris Handled Matters with Compassion
To The Editor:

Cold Spring village has lost a dedicated and talented public servant, our Officer Darryl Burris.

Whether we are conscious of it or not, Officer Burris was a great detective, always plugged into the the comings and goings of our village, who's been naughty and who's been nice, and what may be about to "go down".

Our family, Ellyn and I and Mat and Ben, have had several very personal dealings with Officer Burris (those who are friends of ours, and many others, know all about them) and he handled matters, at all times, with grace, fairness and great compassion for those involved.

His introduction of our K-9 corp is but one example of his innovativeness and I will surely miss seeing him play with Duncan during an afternoon exercise session as I drive to town on Rte 9-D.

When a fund is established for his children, we will surely contribute generously and we hope you will too.

Jeff and Ellyn Burstein
