Free Screening of The Wizard of Oz at Paramount Center

The Paramount Center for the Arts is proud to present a free screening of the classic film The Wizard of Oz, on Sunday, December 9, at 3pm, as part of Free Arts Day sponsored by the Westchester Arts Council

Wizard of Oz author Frank L. Baum spent some of his most formative, miserable years in Peekskill's Military Academy, desperately longing for escape- when Peekskill's streets were paved with yellow brick! A coincidence? The folks at the Paramount don't think so! Follow the Yellow Brick Road to the Paramount for their free screening of this all-time classic, beautifully restored.

"It's been 25 years since the movie's last theatrical run, which means that just about everyone is overdue for seeing this marvelous spectacle the way it was meant to be seen" (Austin Chronicle). "Seeing The Wizard of Oz in a movie theater, the way God and Louis B. Mayer intended you to see it, is like being at Cape Canaveral for a space shuttle launch instead of watching it on television" (Bob Bloom).

Free Arts Day is organized by the Westchester Arts Council, with support from Ronald McDonald House Charities, Bank of America, Wal-Mart and Con Edison. For detailed listings please visit www.westarts.com.

Seating is first come first serve; no tickets will be issued. Doors will open at approximately 2:30pm.

For more information please call (914) 739-2333 or online at Paramountcenter.org.
