Joyeux Noel Screens at Howland Public Library Film Series
On Friday, December 21 at 7pm, the Howland Public Library Film Series will be showing Joyeux Noel (2005) free to the public.
This French film, directed by Christian Carion, was inspired by a true story that unfolds on Christmas Eve, 1914, in the midst of World War I. As the French, Scottish and German soldiers prepare to open their presents, a momentous event occurs that changes the destinies of four people: an Anglican priest, a French lieutenant, a world-class tenor and his soprano love. Joyeux Noel is in French with English subtitles. The film runs116 minutes, and is rated PG.
The Howland Public Library is located at 313 Main Street in Beacon. Light refreshments will be served.
