United States Military Academy Band Performs in A Hudson Valley Holiday

The United States Military Academy Band, under the direction of Lt. Col. Timothy Holtan, continues an eagerly anticipated tradition with A Hudson Valley Holiday on December 15 at 7:30pm and again on December 16 at 2pm in West Point's Eisenhower Hall Theatre.

For the second straight year, the show will feature guest actor Jay Montgomery. Mr. Montgomery's credits include appearing as Whizzer in Falsettos on Broadway and on television in Riptide, Baywatch, and Melrose Place. Also featured as guest vocalist will be Kevin McKelvy. A graduate of the United States Military Academy and a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Mr. McKelvy received a Master of Fine Arts in Acting from the Actors Studio Drama School. He has been featured in national commercials for Wendy's, MTV, and in HBO's The Sopranos as U.S. Marshal Lunt.

Returning to A Hudson Valley Holiday are the Estelle and Alfonso Dancers. These young performers have delighted audiences with their charming stage presence and costumes.

The United States Military Academy Band will play its traditional role of providing musical accompaniment. The Academy band's own Sgts. 1st Class Mary Kay Messenger and Laura Bradley will lend their vocal talents to several numbers, including new arrangements by staff arranger Master Sgt. Douglas Richard and other members of the Academy band.

As always, there will be holiday favorites such as The Nutcracker Suite as well as newer songs by Mariah Carey and Diana Krall. What Hudson Valley Holiday would be complete without an audience singalong of well-loved carols and an appearance from ol' St. Nick himself? The concert is free and open to the public.

Please allow extra travel time for the 100% vehicle and photo I.D. inspection at Stony Lonesome and Thayer gates. Due to changing security requirements at West Point, call the Academy Band's hotline at 845-938- 2617, or check www.usma.edu/ special before leaving for the concert.

For concert information, cancellations and updates, call the Academy Band's 24-hour hotline at (845) 938-2617; or visit www.usma.edu/band
