Volunteer positions are available in the following areas: Direct Patient Support, Bereavement Care, Special Community Events, Office Support and The Caring Circle.

Hospice Care in Westchester and Putnam offers comprehensive services for patients with advanced or life-threatening illnesses. Volunteers work closely with our nurses, social workers, and spiritual care counselors to bring emotional and practical help to patients and their families. Bereavement support is also offered to families during the first year following a loss.

The Caring Circle is a supportive program for grieving children and their families. The Caring Circle offers age-specific peer support groups to help children cope with loss and begin healing, often through activities such as games, art, music and creative writing that provides an outlet for their grief.

Intensive, specialized training in the hospice philosophy and skills will be provided for all prospective volunteers. Volunteer training sessions will be held on Saturdays, January 26, February 2 and February 9 from 9am until 3:30pm. Training will be held at the Hospice Care headquarters in Tarrytown, located at 540 White Plains Road.
