Laura Bach and Gregory Casement of Haldane Participate in Area All-State Music Festival

Two Haldane musicians were honored by participation in the New York State School Music Association Area All-State Music Festival at Taconic Hills High School in Craryville, N.Y. Twenty-seven local districts took part in the festival. Laura Bach represented Haldane in the 2007 Area All-State Chorus and Gregory Casement played percussion in the 2007 Area All-State Orchestra. Meredith Nocton is the Haldane Chorus Director and Debbie Contini is the Band Director.

The Area All-State Chorus was conducted by Patrick Taylor. The chorus sang The Last Words of David by Randall Thompson, Hallelujah from Mount of Olives by Ludwig von Beethoven, Amor De Mi Alma with music by Z. Randall Stroupe and text by de la Vega, The Heart is the Compass with music by Neil Ginsburg and poem by L. Marcus, and The Awakening by Joseph Martin. The orchestra played Russlan and Ludmilla Overture by Mikhail Glinka, Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky, and Hungarian March from The Damnation of Faus' by Hector Berlioz. Congratulations to all of the talented musicians who participated in the 2007 Area All-State Music Festival.
