Little League 2008 Season Opens for Registration with Steep Discounts for Early Birds Try outs scheduled for January 27, 2008
Batter up - the Board of Directors of Philipstown Little League has announced that registration is now open for the 2008 season, with a savings of 30 per cent per child if he or she is registered prior to December 31, 2007. Last year over 325 local children participated in the programs, which are open to boys and girls ages 5 through 16.
Philipstown Little League had a successful year last year, with their Senior Girls Softball going all the way to the NYS Championship game. The boys teams played deep into the All- Star Season and their Fall Ball Participation League with Wappinger's Falls was once again a fun time. There, the Boys Junior League Team played in the Championship game and was victorious.
Involve your children today in the 2008 Philipstown Little League; you won't be disappointed. Use the registration form found at the website, www.Philipstownlittleleague.com and either download the form or register right on the site. Notices have also been distributed at Haldane and the Garrison School - check your child's backpack.
All registrations must be completed, signed and returned, accompanied by full payment no later than January 27, 2008 or late registration fees will be incurred. Payment and copies of birth certificates are required for all registrations to be complete.
The early registration costs, which apply from now through December 31, 2007 are: $70 for one player, $105 for two or more
During the regular registration period, from January 1, 2008 through January 27, 2008, the fees are: $100 for one player and $150 for two or more. Late registration fees, which apply after January 27, 2008 until the cut-off date of Febrary 17, 2008, are $130 for one player, $195 for two or more.
This year, the Philipstown Little League is trying something new. There will be a mandatory fundraising effort through a raffle. As part of the registration, $10 should be added to the cost of each child's participation fee, and this will be used to supply each child with $10 worth of raffle tickets, which they can then sell and recoup the funding, returning the name stubs during the season at the concession stand. The prizes will be raffled of at the Little League seasonal picnic.
Parents who are interested in help the league via coaching, working on the fields, working in the concession stands and etc are invited please feel free to contact either Philipstown Little League President, Jim Marigliano, or one of the Board of Directors if you are interested or need assistance with registering. Contact information can be found on the website.
