Mother's Club Formed at Putnam Hospital Center to Raise Funds for Birthing Center

Members of the newlyformed Mother's Club of Putnam Hospital Center, a nonprofit group under the auspices of the PHC Auxiliary that volunteers its time to raise funds for the Carmel hospital's Birthing Center, gathered recently to receive a $2000 donation from the Putnam Community Foundation for its "Snuggle Program." The program provides every infant born at PHC with a Halo Sleep Sack, recommended by the Academy of Pediatrics to reduce the incidence of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

On hand for the presentation were, from left to right, PHC President and CEO Donna M. McGregor, Director of Development and Community Affairs Anita M. Minella, Tyler, Nicole and Kayla Herman of Carmel, PHC Auxiliary President Peg Lindblom, Mother's Club President Corrinne DiVestea of Carmel, Julia Harrer of Kent, New York State Senator Vincent Leibell for the Putnam Community Foundation, PHC Development Associate Dory Yatsko, PHC Neonatologist John Chelala, MD, Putnam County Legislator MaryEllen Odell for the Putnam Community Foundation, PHC Senior Vice President Jeffrey D. Kellogg, and Molly and Hannah Hopkins of Mahopac.

The Mother's Club, which meets monthly and is working on additional free programs for mothers, infants and pediatric patients, is looking for new members. Those interested may call Corrinne DiVestea at 845- 225-5162 or email her at cpublic1@aol.com.
