Home Health Aide Training Program Offered by VNA Home Health Services

VNA Home Health Services

VNA HHS), a not-for-profit provider of home health aide services in Westchester, has been granted approval by the New York State Department of Health to teach Home Health Aide training classes that result in certification for participants.

The first set of classes is scheduled to begin on January 29, 2008. The Home Health Aide Training course lasts for three weeks, and classes will meet daily from 9am until 5pm.

Training is available to any individual, regardless of their experience, who wishes to become a Certified Home Health Aide. The training program also offers an opportunity for Personal Care Aides to upgrade to a Home Health Aide with a oneweek training course. Certified Nurses Aids employed in institutional settings can also enroll in the program for training on techniques specific to home care to become a Certified Home Health Aide.

All three agencies of the VNA of Hudson Valley family are participating in this training. Registered Nurses, Physical Therapists and Hospice specialists will all contribute to the teaching of this course.

VNA Home Health Services is a member of the VNA of Hudson Valley family that has been providing home health services in the region for over a century. VNA HHS is a recognized leader in coordinating and delivering the services needed to assist patients with their in-home medical needs and the activities of daily life.
