City of Peekskill Getting Top- Ranked College Baseball Team This Summer

Peekskill's recently opened Peekskill Stadium is about to get an exciting new tenant: the Peekskill Robins, a top-ranked College Summer Baseball Team that has sent 33 of its alumni to the major leagues. Formerly based in Stamford, CT, the Robins have moved to Peekskill because of the community's energy and enthusiasm and because of Peekskill Stadium's state-of-the-art facilities and spectacular site. Located right on the Hudson River, the Stadium has a magnificent view of Peekskill Bay and the Hudson Highlands.

The Robins will play 12 games each year at Peekskill Stadium, and the city's Department of Parks and Recreation is making certain that there will be virtually no impact on local leagues and school play.

Built with the cooperation of Westchester County and New York State, the Stadium has become a region-wide resource and is intensely utilized by local leagues, the Peekskill City School District, and others. The agreement is an important step forward for Peekskill's Revitalization Plan, showcasing the city's exceptional recreational facilities and activities.

For more information, please call Mayor John Testa at 914- 734-4105.
