Putnam County AARP Announces Winter/Spring Schedule
The Putnam County Chapter of AARP, Chapter 41183, is announcing upcoming Winter and Spring programs. These programs are held at Guidepost's building in Carmel at 2pm every second Saturday of each month, September through May. All Putnam County Senior Citizens and their guests are invited to these informative and friendly meetings. You don't have to be a member of AARP to come, but being a member of this local chapter is a path toward meeting seniors from all over the county and exchanging ideas and finding new friends.
Upcoming meetings planned are:
-January 12: Putnam County Office for the Aging Director Bill Huestis will speak about activities, housing, and programs available to Senior Citizens in Putnam County.
-February 9: Don Konen, Putnam County Trustee of the Patterson Historical Society and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Danbury Railway Museum, will speak about local history of Putnam County.
-March 8: Irish dancers will entertain, and there will be an Irish songfest for all to enjoy..
-April 12: Putnam County SeniorNet members will tell of their computer program of senior citizens teaching other seniors the computer. A "Silent Auction" fundraiser will also be held, offering bargains of items and treasures.
-May: (date to be announced): End of year luncheon for the chapter and guests.
Note these dates on your calendars and plan to come to the meetings. Have a cup of coffee with a pastry and meet new friends. For information, call President John Zaborney at 845-277-3149 or Email him at Zabornej402@aol.com
