Lenore 'Lola' Richardson Holze

Lenore, 'Lola' Richardson Holze, of Hudson, New York, and formerly of Garrison, died at her home Thursday, January 24, following a brief illness.

She was the daughter of Evelyn and the late Perry Shatkin of Bristol, Rhode Island. She leaves her husband H. Russell Holze, daughter Toni Sue, sisters Susan Shatkin of Fairfield, Iowa, and Dr. Jo Anne Shatkin of Paxton, Massachusetts, sister-in-law Christine Steinwand and nephew Joshua Steinwand.

Lenore was a graduate of Boston University and Classical High School in Providence, where she was poetry editor of the 'Laureate' literary magazine. She began her career managing talent agency business affairs in Boston. In New York, she became a legendary contract negotiator and agent at leading talent agencies, including Innovative Artists and J. Michael Bloom.

A creative and vibrant personality, her elegance, love of beauty, and impeccable taste graced her whole environment. She designed the beautiful home she and her husband built in 2006, and filled its gardens with exuberant displays of flowers, vegetables and herbs. She was deeply cherished by all her family, friends and colleagues. Her charm, sharp wit and penetrating insights, and her unforgettable, hearty laughter and warm, generous spirit will be profoundly missed.

A memorial service was held Sunday, January 27 at 2pm at the Clinton Funeral Home in Cold Spring. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Audubon Society, the William Braude library fund at Temple Beth El in Providence, Rhode Island.
