Dutchess driver faulted in crash, faces criminal charges
Putnam County Sheriff Smith reports that a sheriff's deputy was seriously injured on March 5, 2008 when his patrol car crashed head-on into another vehicle on Route 9 in Philipstown. The other driver, a woman from Dutchess County, was also injured and is facing criminal charges following the crash. Full Story
Garrison Volunteer Fire Company Takes Delivery of New Fire Truck
The new fire truck has arrived at the Garrison Volunteer Fire Company. The new truck, designated by its call number "15-2-1", is a Marion Pumper built on a Spartan Chassis capable of delivering 1000 gallons of water and 20 gallons of foam and powered by a Cummings Diesel engine. The fire company's Truck Committee has contributed over 500 hours over the past 3 years to ensure that the design and construction of this vehicle meets the particular needs of our community.
