$7,500 for refuse collection awaits action by County Exec and Legislative approval

    Moved by the County not allotting funds to assist in its refuse collection, Cold Spring's mayor, Anthony Phillips, came before the March 18, 2008 meeting of the Legislature's Economic Development Committee to request the reinstatement of the $7,500 in County funds that had been expected to be used to offset the costs of weekend refuse collection for 2008. Marist to Host Kids' Day Out! Basketball Clinic

    The Marist College Red Foxes and Office of Special Services will sponsor the 17th Annual Kids' Day Out! on Sunday, March 30, at the James J. McCann Recreation Center. P.L.A.Y. Highlander Lacrosse Renews its Annual Rite

    The 12th P.L.A.Y. Lacrosse Pot-Luck Dinner was held March 8 at the Garrison Fish and Game Club. The familycentered dinner is an annual rite in Philipstown's local sports culture. It welcomes the youngest Highlander Lacrosse players and parents along with players and families who've been involved in P.L.A.Y. (Philipstown Lacrosse Association for Youth) for many years. Margaret Mark

    Margaret Mark, age 90, of Cold Spring, died on Friday, March 21, 2008 at West Ledge Extended Care Facility in Peekskill. Born July 22, 1917 in NY, NY, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Anna (Auferi) LaValle. Mrs. Mark, a former resident of Bronx, NY, was active in the Balley Avenue Seniors Center, and the Cold Spring Senior Citizens. Full Story
