William J. Critelli

William J. "Willie" Critelli, age 92, of Cold Spring, died on Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at NY Presbyterian Hospital of Columbia University in NY, NY.

Born in Cold Spring on November 27, 1915, he was the son of the late John and Madeline (Gigliotti) Critelli.

Mr. Critelli attended the New York School for the Blind where he learned many trades. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Loretto Church, a life member of Philipstown Ambulance Corps, and an honorary member of Cold Spring Fire Co. #1. He was also a member of the Nelsonville Fish and Fur Club and an avid Yankee fan.

He is survived by two sisters, Rose Catalano of Niagara Falls, NY, and Josephine "Dolly" Gallio of Tampa FL, many nieces and nephews, many grand nieces and nephews, and several great-grand nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by three brothers, Joseph Critelli, Sr., James Critelli, and Ralph Critelli, and two sisters, Mary Meranto, and Lena Whitehead.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, March 28, 2008 at Our Lady of Loretto Church, Cold Spring, followed by interment in Cold Spring Cemetery. Friends called at the Clinton Funeral Home, Cor. of Parrott and Pine Sts. (21 Parrott St.) Cold Spring, on Thursday, March 27. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mr. Critelli's name to the Philipstown Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Cold Spring, NY 10516.
