Tom Corless was sworn in as Mayor of the Village of Nelsonville at the re-organization meeting of the Village Board on Monday, April 21, 2008. Corless had been re-elected as a Village Trustee last fall and was subsequently appointed deputy-mayor. Putnam Valley Arts Hosts its Fourth "Open Mike Night"
On Saturday May 31, 2008 from 7-9:30pm, Putnam Valley Arts will host another Open Mike Night at the Lake Peekskill Community Center. The arts group, also known as "PV Arts," started these Open Mike Nights in 2003 as a way of paying homage to the famous Night Kitchen in Lake Peekskill, which ran strong from 1973 to 1983. Full Story
Discoloration in Village of Cold Spring Water Explained

On Tuesday, April 22, many residents dealt with a bout of discoloration at their water taps. Through an investigation of the matter, Superintendent Greg Phillips found that the source of the problem was at the Haldane High School, where a fire suppression contractor was testing the system.
