Andrew Elbrecht Graduates from Manhattan College
Andrew Elbrecht, son of Elise & Martin Elbrecht of Lake Peekskill, and a member of Putnam Valley High School' s first graduating class, the Class of 2004, graduated from Manhattan College on May 18, 2008, with a bachelor of science degree in education and a concentration in mathematics.
Mr. Elbrecht was awarded the Joseph J. Gunn Alumni Medal in recognition for outstanding leadership, academic achievement, and service. In addition he was the recipient of The David C. Broderick Medal for Campus Ministry.
During his fours years at Manhattan Mr. Elbrecht frequently was on the Dean's List, published in VISTAS, the School of Education Journal, and is a member of the National Education Honor Society Kappa Delta Pi and the Manhattan College Pen & Sword Society, in recognition of his leadership and extracurricular activities- which included: member of the college Pipe band; Student Assembly Representative; Student Board of Trustee Representative; Vice President for Finance; President of the Student Body; and leadership in the Lasallian Collegians, which sponsors social action initiatives and campus ministry events.
