The Putnam Valley High School Varsity Girls Field Hockey team had their dream season come to an end last Saturday in a heartbreaking NY state regional final loss to nationally ranked Garden City. Great Expectations are Met as Haldane Varsity Girls Volleyball Wins Regionals
Going into this season, the Haldane Varsity Volleyball Team was not sure what to expect. After winning a State Championship expectations are high, and the challenge even bigger after graduating eight seniors, half of them starters. Knights Post 4th Straight Shutout, Arrows Fall in Soccer Action
This past Sunday the U13 Philipstown Knights closed out their season with an impressive 2-0 victory over visiting Larchmont. The victory was the club's fourth consecutive shutout, and 6th overall this season. Playing a very patient, controlled game, the Knights had the better of the play early, immediately pressuring the Strikers' goal. Full Story
William D. "Bill" Green
William D. "Bill" Green of Wappingers Falls, died peacefully on Friday October 31, 2008 at the Pines Nursing Home in Poughkeepsie. He was 77. The son of the late Rev. L. Vance and Esther Green, Bill was born on April 24, 193l in Altoona, PA. He had a long and successful career as a Math and Science teacher at Garrison Union Free School in Garrison. Full Story
Jackson (Jack) Rose
Jackson (Jack) Rose, 87, of Manasquan died on November 9, 2008, at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center of Neptune. Born at home in Garrison, he remained a resident of Garrison, before moving to Manasquan in 1995. Mr. Rose served with the United States Army during World War II from 1942 to 1945 as an Engineer with Company C 2830th Combat Battalion. Full Story
