Putnam Valley Says "Thank You" to Veterans of All Wars
Putnam Valley Town Supervisor Robert Tendy opened the November 11, 2008 Veterans Day celebration at Town Hall by talking about the meaning behind our celebration of Veterans Day. He recalled how, "The 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month was celebrated as Armistice Day. It marked the end of the war to end all wars, said President Wilson. Full Story

Sue Olsen, 71, of Garrison (Continental Village) died Tuesday, Nov 11, 2008. Born and raised in Toledo, OH, she received her BS from the University of Toledo in 1959. Soon after graduating, she moved to New York, where she was employed by General Foods Corporation as a test kitchen home economist. Full Story
Miriam L. Bosworth
Miriam L. Bosworth died of heart failure at age 96 in West Palm Beach, Florida, on November 7, 2008. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 17, 1912, the daughter of Dave and Rose Levison. She graduated from Hunter College in New York City with a BS degree in geology in 1931, and later taught in the New York City public school system. Full Story
