Club Fit Calendar of Free Community Events - February

Club Fit Jefferson Valley is pleased to offer the following one-of-a-kind events during the month of February, including heart healthy events and offerings to celebrate American Heart Month. Tuesday, February 5: "Mindful Eating: Foods with Nature in Mind" workshop Join Dr. Fred Koontz, Executive Director of Teatown Lake Reservation, from 11am to 12pm as he discusses how your food choices can not only keep you healthier, but also help protect our environment at the same time. Dr. Koontz will review what "nature-friendly agriculture" is all about and why supporting it is a key part of sustainable living. He will also present practical steps that you and your family can take to incorporate mindful eating in your daily routine.

Tuesday, February 12: "Heart Health and Your Workout" workshop Join cardiologist Dina Katz, MD, at 12:30pm, as she discusses healthy hearts, the frequency and intensity of your workouts to keep it healthy, and facts and myths about working out with heart issues. Q & A session to follow.

Wednesday, February 13: Cholesterol Screening,Club Fit and Northern Westchester Hospital will provide total cholesterol and glucose screenings from 11am to 1pm.

Tuesday, February 19: Blood Drive, Club Fit will host an American Red Cross blood drive from 3:30 to 8:30pm.

Thursday, February 21: "How to Get a Good Night's Sleep" workshop Join chiropractor Dr. Michael Berardis of Berardis Family Chiropractic from 11:30am to 12:30pm as he discusses causes of sleeping disorders, how much sleep is really needed, and what you can do to get a good night's sleep every night.

Thursday, February 28: "Toxic Planet ~ What Is in Your Food?" workshop. Join chiropractor Dr. Phil Barone at 7pm as he/she discusses our diet and its relationship to disease and weight issues in America. Why is the U.S. the most overfed and undernourished country in the world? Why do I crave sweets? Why do I overeat but still feel hungry? Why are so many children suffering from obesity, heart disease, diabetes, ADHD, asthma, autism, etc?
