Free 2008 Computer Workshops at the Mahopac William Koehler Senior Center

The following free computer workshops will be offered at the Mahopac SeniorNet Center, 180 Route 6, in Mahopac. Each workshop will be one session, 9:30-11:45am. To register, call or Email Cathy: 845- 628-6423 or co b r i e n@bestweb.net

-Beginners Workshop (Feb. 25 or May 5): For people who have little or no computer knowledge and plan on taking the basic beginners course #101

-Computer Keyboard (Feb. 7): Understanding the layout and function of the keys. Brush up on your keyboard skills

-Genealogy/Life Bio Seminar (Feb. 28): How to find the sources for putting together a genealogy of your family, beginning to put your roots together

-Mail Merge (Apr. 22): Intro to Microsoft Word tables and Mail Merge for labels (Based on Microsoft Word 2002/2003 and Windows XP)

-Buying a Computer (Mar. 14): Help in buying/upgrading a computer, the latest information

-Basic Computer Security (May 14): Protect online activity, "Security Maintenance". Includes anti-virus, anti-spy ware and spam-filtering scanning. Back up data.

There are still a few openings in classes to be given during upcoming 2008 winter and spring months. Contact Cathy at the above numbers regarding courses to be given: Computer Fundamentals, Word Processing (Intro, Intermediate, and Advanced), Graphics Fun, Internet and Email (Intro and Advanced), Genealogy, Adobe Photoshop Elements, and Digital Photography.

Learning computer skills will change your life. With only six students in each class and a SeniorNet instructor and a coach for each two students, you will enjoy learning computer skills with other senior citizens. Extra practice time is available. Learning computer skills will be like entering a new, stimulating, exciting life.
