Yorktown Lions Make Pre- Holiday Visit to Pines Bridge

Pines Bridge student James Galvez, from Brewster, high fives SpongeBob SquarePants (a.k.a. Yorktown Lion Steve Rice), with the help of his aide Colleen Rodriguez, also from Brewster, during the Lions' pre-holiday visit to the school.
Students at The Pines Bridge School on the Yorktown campus of Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES got to shake hands with the likes of Elmo, Dora the Explorer, SpongeBob …and, of course, Santa Claus…before the Christmas break.

Inside the costumes were members of the Yorktown Lions Club and one Pines Bridge faculty member drafted at the last minute. The Lions visit Pines Bridge every year to wish students a happy holiday and sweeten their day with Carvel ice cream treats.

On hand were Lions Pat Daddino, Barry Levin, Al Avitabile, Richard Scharchilli (Carvel owner), Steve Rice (SpongeBob), Arnie Goldberg, C.J. Arditi (Elmo), Pam Matuszewski ( a "Leo"), Erik Wright (from Guiding Eyes for the Blind), Linda Arditi (C.J.'s mom), and Pines Bridge teacher Erin Martins (Dora).
