Mid Winter Jewish Film Festival Returns to Temple Beth-El
The mid-winter Jewish Film Festival returns to Temple Beth- El, Poughkeespie, on Sunday, January 13, 2008, presenting the film The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz. The film is about the son of a working-class Jewish family in Montreal.
Duddy Kravitz yearns to make a name for himself in society. This film chronicles his short and dubious rise to power, as well as his changing relationships with family and friends. Along the way the film explores the themes of anti- Semitism and the responsibilities which come with adulthood. Produced in 1974, in English. Screening is promptly at 4pm at Temple Beth-El, 118 Grand Ave, Poughkeepsie. Refreshments will be served. Reservations are appreciated.
