Double Blind: Lebanon Conflict 2006 Photography Exhibit Opens at Fovea Gallery
Fovea is pleased to present Double Blind, a profoundly moving photographic essay by award-winning Magnum Photos member Paolo Pellgrin. While on assignment in southern Lebanon in 2006 for The New York Times, Pellegrin intimately captured the grief of the Lebanese population in the face of the Israeli air strikes. The exhibition will be on view from January 12 through March 2, 2008. Join Paolo Pellegrin at a reception this Saturday from 4pm until 8pm at Fovea. The reception is free and open to the public, and the gallery is open for educational tours by appointment.
While covering the story, Pellegrin was injured by shrapnel and suffered a concussion during a missile attack. Subsequently he was awarded the 2007 Robert Capa Gold Medal, one of photojournalism's highest accolades reserved for international reporting 'exceptional courage'. On exhibit are oversized, black and white images he photographed.
Fovea Exhibitions is located at 143 Main Street in Beacon. For more information visit www.FoveaEditions.org or phone 845-765-2199.
