Culinary Grad to Lead Free Diabetes Workshops in Peekskill
The health care team at Hudson River HealthCare is offering a workshop series designed to help those living with diabetes, or caring for someone living with diabetes, to live a healthy life and feel great. The workshops will offer information on diabetes and controlling blood sugar and encourage meaningful conversations between participants as well as offer an exchange of ideas about living with diabetes.
Shaina Robbins, Graduate Chef from The Culinary Institute of America, will demonstrate how easy, healthy and delicious foods can be prepared. She will be joined by Hudson River HealthCare's Kathy Brieger, Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator. All workshops will be held on four consecutive Mondays, from 6 to 7:30pm in the 2nd floor conference room at Hudson River HealthCare's Peekskill office, which is conveniently located at 1037 Main Street. Workshop dates and topics are as follows:
January 28 - What is diabetes? Monitoring Your Blood Sugar February 4 - Making a plan for diabetes, including healthy eating plans February 11 - Keeping blood sugar in target ranges February 18 - Learning about the journey of diabetes for the long run
