Nelsonville Truck Restriction is Too Limited
To the Editor:

As a resident of Nelsonville, the news of truck traffic restriction on the streets of Nelsonville was a welcome read as it seemed to indicate that 4:30am engine brakes, grinding gears, sootcovered porch, and 4.0 Richter Scale rumblings were finally going to cease.

This sense of elation was short-lived as the next sentence indicated the exceptions to the restriction were Rt. 301, Peekskill Road, and Fishkill Road. Such exceptions to the restriction beg the question, "So what is the point of the restriction?" I have yet to see such large trucks moving along Division Street. This seems to be a pointless action by the Board of Trustees that will do absolutely nothing toward eliminating the problems caused such traffic.

Perhaps this could be explained at the next meeting of Trustees??
