Hudson Valley Hospital Center's First '08 Baby Arrived With a Twist
Arriving too late to have the title of the first baby born in '08 for Westchester, Ivan Leon, 7 lbs., 1 oz., was born to Mohegan Lake residents Ramona and Adolfo Leon at 9:21am; making him the first baby born in Hudson Valley Hospital Center in 2008.
Not only did Ivan receive the designation of first baby of the year, he was treated to a gift from Yorktown High School student and Girl Scout Michelle DeJoseph. This past summer, DeJoseph conducted a bake sale and used the proceeds to purchase outfits for newborns at the Hospital. DeJoseph specifically designated one of the outfits for the first baby born in the New Year. The other 70 donated outfits will go to families in need. This project is part of DeJospeh's Girl Scout Gold Award project.
And yet still there is a distinguishing factor to Ivan's birth. Ivan's father Adolfo has 4 daughters. His daughters include Gabrielle - age 6, Marcella - age 22, Lillian - age 26 and Laura - age 27, who is also pregnant! Adolfo expressed much joy for not only gaining a grandchild and child at the same time but, fathering his first son.
