Swiss Cuisine Starts Off the Year at BOCES' The Educated Palate
The Educated Palate, a student run restaurant on Putnam/ Northern Westchester BOCES' campus, is starting off the year this month - Thursday, January 10, 2008 - by featuring a fourcourse, Swiss cuisine meal.
The Educated Palate is operated entirely by students in BOCES' Hospitality Career Academy, a program accredited by the Association for Career and Technical Education. Students in the Hospitality Career Academy learn all aspects of Culinary and Pastry Arts, while fulfilling high school graduation requirements in English, math, and social studies. Running the restaurant requires Culinary students to purchase, prepare, and serve food to local diners monthly throughout the winter and spring, providing them with hands-on, experiential learning…and a great excuse for area residents to visit the BOCES Yorktown campus for a superb dining experience.
Additional restaurant dates and cuisines are: Middle Eastern cuisine on Thursday, February 7; Russian cuisine on Thursday, March 13; "April in Paris" on Thursday, April 10; and Latin American cuisine on Thursday, May 8.
With limited restaurant seating capacity and traditionally high interest, reservations in advance are strongly suggested. The cost is $20 per person and seating begins promptly at 11:45am. For reservations or additional information, please call (914) 248-2210.
